Myrmidons

The Following is evidence I will use to prove my theory:

Desirous of power and immortality, the warrior race of the Myrmidons left their northern kin to join Balor and the Fallen Lords, and so they became known as The Kithless.
-Myrmidon Flavor Text, Myth TFL

While still flesh and blood, the Myrmidons were most vain about their long hair and body paint, spending the eve of battle before a mirror rather than in a bedroll.
-Myrmidon Flavor Text, Myth TFL

A race of warriors who betrayed the light when Balor promised them immortality. Three hundred years later, their decayed bodies still walk, held together only by rotting bandages and the desire to rend flesh from the bodies of the living.

Myrmidons carry two Gridaksma Blades, composed of a human femur capped on each end with the steel blade of a scythe. A few deft swings will cut a swath through almost anything.
-Myrmidon Description, Cast of Characters, Myth TFL Manual

"Their healing ritual has its roots in the initiation rites of the Heron Guard, but what brings about immortality in a truly exceptional person merely restores the vitality of lesser men."
-Journeyman Flavor Text, Myth II

Why there not undead:

The're natural lives ended and they are kept alive by use of magic. By one definition of undead they are undead. But Herons too are kept alive by magic, as are Archmages does this mean that they too are undead?
No.

Balor gave them immortality
Herons are Immortal

The term immortality means:The condition of being immortal
Immortal means :Not subject to death

But that would mean that nothing could kill them but since the term is used for Herons and the've died many a time I think its obvious that in the Game it means:Not subject to natural death eg.Disease, Old age etc.

Why they can be unhealed

The immortallity spell for Herons seems that the worthier (in a moral sense) you are the greater you are healed (Hence why Herons are fully restored and Trow only half) but in a herons sense the are so moral it makes them immortal.

Its clear that the spell for making Herons immortal is differnt to the spell for making Myrms Immortal since siding with the leveller hardly makes a person truly exceptional

Thus we can asume that the spell for Myrms immortallity is Dark magic since it was used by the Leveller.

If it is Dark Magic and the Jorneymans healing dispels the dark magics then it too would dispel the magics that keep the Myrmidions immortal.

Why the're rotting

There are two possible reasons for this one insane they anther not quite as much.

Because he had to use the spell on an entire race we can assume that the spell wasn't all that complicated and probably only gave immortal life not eternal youth.

Alternitively
To quote "held together only by rotting bandages and the desire to rend (rip, tear) flesh from the bodies of the living." now if this is taken literally then does this mean that they continue to be immortal only if they obey there master or the Dark Gods?

If so then if they are not pure evil then the Dark Gods do not reward them with Eternal youth only eternal life.
