TFL Manual Oddities

I was just flipping through my newly-rediscovered TFL manual last night, and I noticed a couple oddities in there.

The first one, page 15, is a screenshot of the Preferences screen. It looks fairly normal, but there are two options currently missing: Less Violent, and Play Demo Behind Main Menu. Play Demo was there in the 1.0 release and removed in later, but apparently the no-blood option was at least partially implemented in TFL, though it didn't make the final cut until M2. This option is also mentioned on the next page.

On page 17, a shot of the status bar. The Dwarven flavor text has Myrgard and Stoneheim switched. Plus, there's an additional blank button next to the pause button, which was also there in earlier screenshots (where the status bar looked totally different). Perhaps Bungie intended to implement the Hints/Objectives feature of Myth II, but never got around to it?

Page 28 has another screenshot, of the Multiplayer Setup window. The left half looks normal, but the buttons for Bungie.net and Other look different, and there's a note at the bottom saying "bungie.net is the only way to play myth". Tuncer is logging in under the screenname "Gecko".

Page 30 has an image of Bungie.net, with Tuncer (under his own name), Chris, Welme, Fate, Yoda, and a number of others in the same room, all single-daggars. There's a screenfull of games in progress, one called "blam ding" (they're playing Crow's Bridge). For those not in the know, Bungie had a survey/quiz a long time ago, with one question being "Dink or Blam?", and neither was the correct answer. (I think the correct answer would be "Your Mom", as seen from the Infinity credits, "Dink. Blam. Your mom." Blam! later became the codename for Halo, and "Your Mom" is from an old joke between Jason and Greg, "Hey Jason" - "What?" - "Your mom." - "No Greg, YOUR mom".

On page 34 is a shot of the Game Options screen. The only levels shown are Grave, RIP, and RIP again, with both RIPs faded out. Game types are Attrition (greyed), Bacon, LMOTH, Scavanger, FR, CtF (greyed), Balls on Parade (greyed), Terries, Captures, and KOTH, with more off screen, one of which looks like it could be Rugby (greyed). 36 tells about the game types: KOTH, Bacon, Balls on Parade, FR, Terries, Scavenger, and Captures. The KOTH described, however, is actually LMOTH.

41 tells of multiple avatara with unique spells, though we never see any other than Alric. Feh.

Other minor things which we've already discussed are in there too.
