in the Myth II epilogue, it says every hero is different, but the destroyer is always the same: a transient divinity known as the Leveler.
But this is copied from a web page which copied this from the bungie myth site during the pre-TFL days:
"The story of Myth centers around a diety which appears in this world in cycles of a thousand years. During one cycle the deity will appear as a Savior, in the next, as a Destroyer. At the beginning of Myth, the Fallen Lords, he has returned in the guise of Destroyer, with the Fallen Lords, a group of resurrected and powerful generals. These being and their legions of undead and spirit forces rise up to destroy the living beings of this world, while the player controls the living and tries to stop the onslaught."
Remember this was taken during the early pre-TFL days, when Bungie was still working out the storyline. By then end, it was determined that not all magics were called dreams, like they were supposed to. and by the end, we determined that, by reading the Myth II epilogue, it is clearly stated that every hero is different. which means there can only be one transient spirit.
the A/B theory works when considering that the preTFL info and other very early info is correct, but in light of the newer M2 evidence, it appears that there is only one divinity involved: the Leveler who comes and takes the hero and usually turns him into a evil being who wears his mantle. if there is a loophole somewhere in the M2 epilogue that makes some kind of room for an Alric spirit, please let me know

actually, no matter where you look, whether in the TFL or M2 manuals, or in most prerelease info, it says there is six fallen lords, and balor was there leader who suborned them. there is not 7 fallen lords, even though it is the Bungie obsessive number.
