welly painfully admits

hmmm

this is really tough for me, kind of like pissin a gallstone (even though i have never personally done that I have heard it is like a man giving birth in pain terms)

i guess there are other necromantic spells, lesser magics that the dark uses which are smaller than the actual Dream of Unlife spoken of in our favorite thrall flavor text

i just can't debate on the thought that The One And Only Dream of Unlife makes all those types of undead now that i'm starting to question the platform of my side more and more.

but I still do believe that Bahl'al did discover the dream, but i am not sure anymore what he used it for, if anything.

I'm beginning to lean toward the following 2 new [new for me, anyway] hypotheses which i just began considering due to forrest's enlightening post:

Since the dream of unlife is considered by most, and now me, to actually recreate the whole entire person, 'soul' and body, i believe that it is exactly what Balor used to give the still living Myrmidons their immortality (immortality in the sense that age and time do not affect them, only outside actions like violence).

The Summoner was using the dream of unlife to totally recreate the Krids. to me there is no explanation really as to another way he was doing that. only a Dream could allow him to totally "resurrect" (not just make puppets like undead thrall) a dead being to its former state.

i also tend to think this way now: when Bahl'al found the dream, he didn't immediately utilize its full power for some reason, so began using it as a kind of template for lesser spells of his own making. one of these was the Thrall spell, which creates armies of UnDead puppets.

a separate spell, which like the thrall spell, was based on the dream, reanimated fresher corpses into Ghasts. then soulblighter might have found/stolen someone elses spell which removes a Dark human minion's soul, and after experimenting with it finally formulated soulless. etc, until Balor, being a diety, finally discovered how to use the dream in its full power (not just copy its effects) who then Ressurected the shades and immortalized the myrms.

as to how i can explain that quote about SB's learning of Balor's most powerful secret, i can only say this: these new hypotheses have plenty of holes in them. mb more holes than my last beliefs.

but just know i plan to use these as a platform until MWA comes out, then hopefully this will all be settled.

now's your chance! while im still brainstorming, mb you can throw in a few ideas of your own. the series of debates these past few days have broken my confidence in the old beliefs i once had. the holes were just too damn big.

but who knows? perhaps i was right about that old ideas. for that reason im stil holding on to them as a default in case these new ideas are way way far out.

PMS i cannot express my desire for MIII to solve these debates!
