It may be old news, but it's new news out front, so I'll post my opinions before everyone else gets in.
Firstly, the new mapmaking tool (Vengeance?) sounds really awesome, and I just hope it lives up to the hype. I'd be happy if it improved even slightly on Fear and Loathing myself. A 26 level solo campaign is just what I need, I am counting down the days, especially since release date almost coincides with graduation.
The new units are looking good, old favourites are cool but it is the new guys who have got my thinking. The 'piggish' guys might be Ohgres, or at least that is my assumption, I don't really like the look of them, but notice that they are enemies in one map and allies in another. They either switch sides in the solo campaign (ala the Ohgre Rebellion) or these are multiplayer screens. The Forsaken strike me as very cool, they remind me of the Zelda zombies (eek), but I loved Myrmidons so they are a welcome addition. Iron Warriors look cool, I just hope they don't unblanace multi.
The films, which I recommend downloading, are awesome, especially the one entitled 'What Dwarves do best'. Not only do we see a zoomed in shot showing the Dorf throwing action and his insane cheers, we also see the detailed scenery, an Axeman and if you look carefully, some Ghol running in the background. Awesome! The Ghol Leap film is short and OK. Heron Guard look cool, very lethal. Oh, and the Dwarf Smith is hilarious. He tries to throw his hammer in the air, drops it, scratches and picks it up again.
And some welcome news, Ravannah will be a good beyatch and we will see more of our old buddy the Watcher. It's too early to predict now, but M3 is gonna be the best in the series. There is also mention of Myth IV and how it may take a new direction. OMG, it's like Christmas all over again!
And if you're interested, apparently there will be some old multi-maps, and some new scenery. Yay!
