The Western Rebellion and the Black Company

I finally got my copy of the Black Company today and was reading through it quite a bit, since some other there might be reading I'll add in a spoiler space.

This

Is

The

Spoiler

Space

Since the majority of the 18 from the book (who are mirrored in Myth by the 9) were in the majority attempting to thin out their more moral ranks and after defeating the Lady ressurect the Dominator, this got me thinking about a certain event in Myth history.

Namely the Head's Rebellion in the West.
As usual I don't have a total theory, just ideas to throw out there.

-If one presumes Alric represents a more moral fellow, then it would stand to reason that the Head himself wasn't the only one who started the Rebellion. Perhaps some of the Nine weren't quite walking the straight and narrow themselves.

-Perhaps Balor really WASN'T the Leveller but rather a close associate of him, ala the Lady and Dominator.

-Perhaps the 'White Rose' of the story was Alric, and the Head knowing this tried to get him killed, but the Deciever for some reason unknown -didn't- kill him (this partially ties into my idea that Balor/Connahct was planning to break the cycle)

I hope this helps start some discussion.

- Spook
