myth 2 epilogue scene

In the Myth 2 epilogue scene where everyone is desperately trying to escape the fury of Tharsis we see fir'bolg.What is this?After the end of the Great War fir'bolg swore never to fight outside their borders again as stated in the Myth 2 manuel(Oh Archer arent you #!@8ing proud that im actually using research?!)Anyway,why then do we see fir'bolg;a mistake or is Tharsis actually fir'bolg territory.It is rather close to the Ermine and even in the cutscene we see something like the beginning of a forest in the distance.If this is true why didnt we get to use fir'bolg as long-range units in the game?
