: Well, maybe, except no, absolutely not.
: "Connacht" is the spelling in the game, and
: it is his name. "Connaught" is not. The
: pronunciation of his name is also not
: "con-UKT", it is "KAWHN-awht". We
: go by what is clearly shown in the game, not the
: obscure, however interesting, references from which
: they came.

: »–)ð

I listened to Epilouge in Myth II Its prononced con-ow-kt.

Connacht is an 20th century English spelling (pronounced konn-EKHT)(My Theory) of
Connaught which is a 17 century version (pronounced KAWHN-awht)(Your Theory) of the Irish
Connachta which I can't tell you how to pronounce cos I'm not an Irish language Teacher.

Now if your wondering why it gets changed I'll tell you if you don't care skip to the next paragraph.
When British Prime Minister Cromwell (a Tyrant worthy of the Mantle of the Leveller once he ordered the entire population of a town to be shot, Men women and children. I kid you not.) wanted maps of Ireland in the 17th Century so he could throw out native Irish and put in some English settlers he sent some guys to make maps. When they (who couldn't speak Irish) asked what an area was called they were told be people (who couldn't speak English) and they attempted to write it down and they rarely got it right hence why it got changed and then in the 20th Century when they were putting it into Dictionaries they made a mess again.

Now according to my Dictionary the pronunciation of the "obscure reference" is the very one which is what you believe is the correct pronunciation of Connacht

And since when is one quarter of an Island obscure reference.

Maybe someone should put a sound file of them saying it because were not all Englsh Teachers.

Also I might aswell point out that on Connachts armour in The Myth Comic is an Irish symbol. Usually seen in the Book of Kells and our 1 Penny coins.
