I reread GURPS today (yet again) and suddenly it struck me....is GURPS wrong yet again???
The general theory, if I got it right, is Culweyh 'invented' the wights. Wheter Culweyh is Shiver or whatever I will leave untouched, it's been discussed already.
Anyways, the wights r the messengers of Culweyh, but in GURPS it says they're a natural evolution of a ghast.
A wight it says, is a badly decomposed Ghast. Which strikes me as odd. Any self respecting fallen/necromancer/leveller/avatar can, if he can summon undeadz at all, create a ghast. A ghast is like basic undead science...not even up to thrall standard....but they, OUT OF THE BLUE, evolve in2 higher undead science: a wight.
Why are they called the messengers of culweyh?? I bet culweyh wasn't the first to create a ghast. So either gurps is wrong again, or we need to revise a theory....
