Just how undead IS Soulblighter?

So I was making a film for Twice Born last night, and wanted to do something interesting with it, so I crowded all of my melee forces into the cave entrance where Soulblighter escapes. Soulblighter isn't scripted to attack at this point, so he's just trapped. Mwahaha. So remembering how Soulblighter gets his ass kicked by the healing spell of the Journeymen in TFL, I thought why not heal him now with my Heron Guards. In TFL, he escapes by dispersing into his murder, but by now the Deceiver has taken care of that option. So he should be totally screwed! But when I heal him, it just heals him up like any other living being.
I is baffled! Help.
