Great site guys, I'd heard about Nontoxic's old story page from my friend Tino and always wanted to visit it. Well, it looks like I have the honor of being among the first to post on this awesome forum, so let's get down to business.
In your "Legends and Lore" section under the level "Seven Gates", something is mentioned about there being a correlation with Tolkien. Mithrandir (Gandalf) is mentioned as "...knowing the pass-words of the Seven Gates...". This refers to the seven levels of the tiered city of Minas Tirith in Gondor, each surrounded by its own wall with each wall containing a well guarded gate. This seems to have very little to do with a mountain pass in the Cloudspine. If there is a connection, it is probably just that the Bungie dudes felt like naming something after Tolkien. And who can blame them? ;)
