Bungie Dayathon 2010
Posted By: FyreWulff <mkidder@gmail.com>Date: 6/7/10 12:41 a.m.

Sup everybody. Decided that if I was going to do another marathon for Bungie Day this year, it was going to be for charity this time, instead of 7up drinks.

After seeing how many people turned up to help out Haiti on ODST Firefight alone, I've decided to conduct a marathon of all Bungie games I can get my hands on.

These games are the entire Marathon Trilogy and all of the Halo games.

Bungiedayathon 2010

The site will be here. It'll start to form into something more informative as Bungie Day nears. All proceeds will be going to the Brian Morden Foundation - I won't see (or even handle) any of the money myself. It will be tracked via a ChipIn module.

Why the long lead time?

One - lead time gets more viewers and more donations. The community poured out almost 800 dollars for Haiti with almost no lead time for a marathon. With more lead time it should be almost guaranteed that the goal will be met.

Two - why no Oni, Myth, etc? Simple answer: I couldn't track them down in time for this post. I've searched high and low and can't find these anywhere without having to resort to shady eBay auctions. So if you guys want to see me play Oni or Myth or any other Bungie game that isn't here, help me out. If you have a copy of any Bungie game not in the marathon that you'd be willing to lend me, send an email to mkidder@gmail.com and we'll figure stuff out. This is why I'm posting this on 6/7, to give time for this to happen.

re: Halo Wars. Even though it is in Bungie's universe, it is Ensemble/Robot's game. It will be the backup game in case one of my discs break or something else goes wrong.

The marathon will start in the early hours of 7/7 and will continue throughout the day. Of course, since I'll be more than likely one-manning it, there will be sleep breaks. I'm not that crazy.

So tell your friends to tune in on 7/7! Make sure their Paypal accounts work! And don't get me started on the silly stuff I have planned for viewer interaction via Twitter. It is most silly.

But it's all for a good cause. Don't let me down.
