Decided to fire up the 360 since last night, started Halo 3, started tweaking with my armor permutations since I just unlocked the Scout shoulderpads, and it freezes up on me. I rebooted the 'box, tried to jump into Big Team Social and the screen froze up on me once the game was about to start. Rebooted again, this time I get the blinking red ring.. only three of the four lights were blinking red though.. 2nd player light wasn't activated. Dunno if that means anything in particular.

Rebooted again, jumped into Ranked Lone Wolves, got about 8 kills in when the game froze upon me like it did in Social, rebooted, and then RRoD again, same lights were blinking. I'm going to see if I can jump in a game tomorrow morning, but I'm thinking it might be my disk laser. It almost seems that if the 'box tries to read the disk, the game freezes up on me. It loaded up my XBL content just fine, although I don't know much of what's separated from XBL & what's read from disk (I figured Halo 3 content specifically designed for the XBL experience won't load).

Any thoughts? I picked up my Elite on the 2nd day they were released on the market, so I have a lot of content (ie: Halo 3 Beta) on the harddrive. Thankfully I can just swap them out if I have to pick up a new 360 Elite.
