An important point to remember - if you're planning on attempting to unlock Recon, bungie.net will require that you have games where you meet the criteria for the achievements in your game history (for the ODST vidmasters). Having the achievement unlocked in your Xbox Live profile is not enough for the Recon unlock.
This is because it is rather easy to trick Xbox Live into unlocking your achievements without you actually earning them (offline earning isn't necessarily cheating, just as having a date on your achievement doesn't mean the achievement wasn't cheated, so don't go through accusations around, btw).
Anyway, make sure that when you're using the Live-connected-but-playing-system-link games that you stay connected to Live the entire time - if your game upload fails, it won't matter if Xbox Live thinks you have the achievement, you'll still have to do it again.
