In Response To: Narc's "Halo 3 Partnership" article (Hawaiian Pig) First up: Am I correct in assuming this the author's gt? In response to the article itself.. it's mostly correct but as HP pointed out, most of it is pretty self apparent. If I were to nitpick I'd say that I don't think the line between leader and wing is as rigid as the article makes it out to be. The author says the wing only issues orders when it's an emergency. I'd definitely fall into the "wing" part of the team, but as soon as a power weapon or an OS/cloak falls into my hands, command immediately shifts. The person with rockets or cloak is more aware of what options are available, he can be more aggressive, and as such should be the one calling the shots. Letting the leader take all the power weapons so the wing doesn't get into that situation is often impractical due to distances and just plain inefficient in terms of team cohesion, so the responsibility has to fall on the wing. I think an optimal team would be two people that can fill both the lead and wing roles equally, and know when to switch between. My (life) partner Devin and I have been playing Halo together for six years and we feed off each other very well. We do have defined roles, but they are nebulous at best. Halo matches are quite dynamic and both players need to be capable of whatever is required of them at any time. I really like these types of articles and definitely encourage discussion on the subject. I look forward to future entries. Yours,
