dropping grenades and Marine's ammo supply

In Response To: Hogs on top of Cartographer & other oddities (Reidbo) : Inspired by R.G., I was finally able to get a Warthog on top of Cartographer. sweet!! : Having killed about six marines without any of them dropping any nades, I was : able to wedge the hog in the rock and then toss plasma then frag grenades. : With the right timing they go off together,launching the hog skywards. : From there it's a couple of rocket shots. damn.. six marines and no 'nades? i'm sorry you went through all that trouble. you know, i am wondering if the game keeps track of Marine's ammo. They never seem to run out at least when it comes to guns. i have seen Marine's throw grenades at the beginning of Silent Cartographer, but that wouldn't explain why 6 of them had none (i doubt they threw 12 grenades).. maybe the Ammo they drop is determined by random number (0-2 for grenades). i was playing on Normal difficulty BTW. i'm glad you were able to get up there. i'll have to try your plasma/frag grenade combo. it certainly requires less setup! i think i tried plasma grenades at one time but couldn't get enough lift.. never thought about using 2 diff types at once. : One last thing. Twice I rolled the hog on the pathway and fell thru the map, : landing underwater. Odd. I had the overshield once and survived the : landing, and started walking around, only to get respawned in about ten : seconds. yeah, happened to me once too. -r
