In Response To: Pelican compared to real tank (Stephen L. (SoundEffect)) : Recently, I got an email from someone writing/editing a Halo wiki entry on : some aspects covered in the Art of Halo 3. He asked if I could confirm or : deny a notation within suggesting the Pelican was big enough an Abrams : M1A1 Main Battle Tank could fit inside its troop bay. : I recall reading this text from the art book and another on the same page
: To settle a debate between my contact and a friend as to Bungie's claim
: The conclusion: The tank won't fit the troop bay as designed (with the seats
: Here's the diagram I made: Pelican / Abrams Size Comparison "Bungie's claim"? That's a good comparison diagram. Robt McLees actually imported a to-scale model of the M1 Abrams into the model of the Pelican. The seats were meant to be foldable, so it fit in there. But no, the doors won't close. He did it to illustrate a point to some new 3D artists, and when he wrote the text for the art book, it made total sense to include that bit of info. The caption for the Elephant hopeflly drives home why things seem smaller than "real life". Cheers!
