I mean, I see the covenant ship.. I see the explosion..

What's bothering me is the location of the explosion isn't consistent with Truth's "explosion" in Halo 2 (which I realize Bungie may not care about), and the fact that the SI interprets it as an EMP burst.

In the Halo 2 cutscene, the explosion happens AFTER Truth's ship has COMPLETELY passed through into slipspace. I thought this heavily suggested it was an effect of having a slipspace opening take place in the atmosphere of Earth.

Because of the "suction" effect (seen in the buildings that were pulled into slipspace and appeared at Delta Halo), the Covenant couldn't have dropped a bomb as they were jumping either. And the explosion, in Halo 2, takes place in the air--not on the ground (as if they had planted a bomb before they left).

PLUS, if this DOES take place after Truth has escaped..what are you going to be doing in the game? Fighting Covenant? They should have left, and any that didn't probably got toasted in whatever explosion we see in this teaser trailer. The Flood haven't arrived yet.. so...?

I'm going to keep an open mind that I could be wrong.. here are some images you guys can use to form your own opinions :)
