A civilian holding a Brute Hammer *IMGs*

So, I was playing through The Storm and accidentally discovered a Marine which allowed me to swap my Brute Hammer for his pistol. Here are the screenshots:

I then attempted to re-create the glitch with no success until my fourth or fifth revert to the checkpoint prior. Here I manage to give him the Hammer in the section before the anti-air gun at the end of the level:

I have a save film of the second successful attempt in case someone wants to watch it and analyze it to determine what allowed me to swap the Brute Hammer. It seemed to only be that one civilian that allowed for it. You can download the save film here. I tried to kill the other civilians when the area was secure to see if he would attack me with it, but if you detach the camera and watch, he keeps running into the barrier and eventually stops only to just stand there. I move him around and he doesn't do anything.

He simply holds the hammer with one hand and walks around with it. I doubt there's an animation for him to use it. It's sort of like the Hammer-wielding Brute flood at the beginning of the level Halo; he will never use the hammer against you, only hit you with his tentacles. It's the oddest thing. I'm not sure what allowed me to do so and I'm not sure of the benefit either, but I thought I'd share :)
