"Outside of the box" Halo3 panoramas
Posted By: RVideo <racer4770@aim.com>Date: 4/8/08 12:39 a.m.

Explanation - These are game assets that are found well outside of the normal "gameplay" areas for Sierra 117 (first level in H3) and Halo (the last level in H3). For the Halo assets, these are seen during the opening cutscenes (essentially scenery props).

While I originally wanted to make some composites from the popular cutscenes, I was unable to break out of the 'frozen camera' mode even using Pan-scan.

**I would really love to hear from some of the Halo story buffs - If you notice the "core" of the Ark has a really interesting structure to it - I have no idea what the explanation for this is in the story (Bottom center in "Artifact 2" image). Is this mentioned in Ghost Of Onyx? Im waiting to read it on Amazon Kindle but haven't gotten to it yet.

Also I wanted to say quickly that I had a little difficulty in camera control - It's a long story but needless to say "Up" wasnt always "up" and "left" was sometimes a combination of "raise" and "turn right." I know it sound bonkers but thats how it was, this far outside of the map. Therefore, I could not coordinate the individual shots to 'line up' like I normally do for previous panoramas.

Thanks for looking and I hope you enjoy these.
