HBO vs FSG write-up

HBO VS. FSG Write-up-tacular write-up

So December 28 2007 was the date when two communities clashed. One dedicated to Bungie’s bestseller thus far, and one dedicated to a physics simulator of sorts. The challenge was five games played on a variety of locales. Players included well-known members of each community: Spartan Jag(HBO), Major Silva(HBO), gunluva(HBO), Lazerblade23(FSG), and Requisite(FSG). Filling in for Coolant(FSG) was xXxBlu3SteelxXx and Phrygian noobs(FSG). Now, before I go in depth of the events, I would like to apologize to the HBO admin that I booted at the start. Please to not be banning me from the glorious forums of the HBO. Anyways, on to our first game.

GAME 1: Team Slayer on Guardian

Starting Weapon: Assault Rifle

Well, the game started with Jag and Silva complaining about no BRs, sorry about that. It slipped my mind. However, Silva grabbed a sniper rifle and went to work. Requisite had a very strong performance in this particular match. He even slipped away to snag the sniper rifle on the HBO side. However, I put an end to that. All in all, a good match ending with a victory for HBO.

MVP: Spartan Jag(HBO)

GAME 2: Ctf on Last Resort

Starting Weapon: Battle Rifle

After a minor snag with forgetting, again, to put BR starts, the game started with HBO going in a tight group until after the sea wall, when it was suggested that the gang split-up. FSG’s look-out was quickly silenced, and gunluva grabbed the flag. xXxBlu3SteelxXx stopped him, and Jag grabbed the flag. Major Silva brought the Warthog into play, and attempted to give Jag a lift, but the effort was thwarted by Requisite’s grenade, which toppled the vehicle. After a hail of BR fire, Jag fell. Gunluva grabbed the flag, but the joy was short lived as Lazerblade23 gunned him down at the sea wall. Jag grabbed the flag, but his shields were out, so he dropped the flag. Again, gun grabbed the flag and got to within ten feet of the flag return spot, and died. Silva seized the flag and went in some other direction. After about 3 seconds of confusion, Silva made the first, and only, flag capture of the game. An HBO victory.

MVP: Major Silva(HBO)

GAME 3: Neutral Bomb on Narrows

Starting Weapon: Battle Rifle

Requisite did quite well doing the shooting in this match, and Lazerblade23 did a dramatic defusing right when the counter reached one second. However, Lazerblade showed little honor when he grabbed the bomb and tossed it over the edge of the map; twice. Regardless, HBO emerged victorious, thanks in most part to Spartan Jag(3 bomb detonations).

MVP: Spartan Jag(HBO)

GAME 4: Multi Flag on Valhalla

Starting Weapon: Assault Rifle

Jag was quick to hop in the Banshee and gain control over the airspace, however as he fled he slammed into a rock. Didn't help all too much, but when the 'Shee respawned he performed quite well ... until Lazerblade23 boarded him. There wasn't much Lazer could do when he was being tailed by 4 of gunluva's rockets, though. Silva did some superb Splaser kills when FSGers came out of the man cannons. Then something odd happened. An FSG member quit. xXxBlu3SteelxXx exited the game to play Campaign. Perhaps he was frustrated, and needed the Brutes to comfort him. We'll probably never know. Not surprisingly, HBO won again.

MVP: Major Silva(HBO)

GAME 5: Team Oddball on Epitaph

Starting Weapon: Assault Rifle

Game length: 1 minute and 55 seconds

With FSG short one teammate, I had to call someone in from the reserves. Someone I had never really met before; phrygian noobs. I will not even begin to comtemplate the meaning of phrygian, but the noobs part was certainly correct. PN was 10 years old; not good for team FSG. Taking pity, HBO decided to throw planning out the window and just run around with the ball. Major Silva grabbed the ball and didn't let go. The game was over quickly, like pulling a band-aid off, for FSG.

MVP: Major Silva(HBO), hands down.

HBO emerges victorious.
