| My Cubist wish came true! | |

I have an occasional thought where I compare computer game art to fine art. Game graphics are constantly attempting to appear hyper-realistic, which I always think end up looking more fake than something simpler. I always imagined what it would look like to show the feeling of 3D movement through time in a much more abstract manner, and create something that ended up looking more real in some sort of sense. I suppose the most famous example in art is Duchamps' Nude Descending A Staircase
So my (current) 360 has always been a bit glitchy - I have to turn it; on (pause) off (pause) on, to start it up each time. Well tonight my Cubist dream came true. My 360 started up and all the fonts were really messed up in the menus. I took a few photos and started up Halo. *Everything* in Halo was messed up. 3D objects were warped and fragmented. I started up a few films and it was amazing. These cubist models moving around with shards of graphics spiked off at all angles. There were planes of colour and texture all over the place, especially indoors, so I took some shots on the Narrows bridge, one on Guardian and a couple of vehicles on Sandtrap. They're in my file share, but they are nothing compared to seeing these things in motion - absolutely amazing. As I say the pictures really don't do the moving images justice. Oh, and then I reset my 360 and it came on completely normally as if nothing had happened. So now I am kicking myself that I didn't take a couple of hundred more shots.
