Hey guys I'm between projects at the moment and what with the upcoming release of marathon on Xbox live I've been thinking about the music and how little recognition it (and Alex Seropian) gets, compared to Halo's music and its epic fanbase. That's not so say I don't appreciate Halo's music-it's one of the finest soundtracks of our generation- but I think sometimes people overlook how much it was influenced by Alex's original themes. So.. I've been toying with the idea of re-scoring some of those classic tunes with a halo-style orchestration- I think it's been tried before but not on this scale. Here's my first attempt, in which I try to highlight how much material the two soundtracks share. Just like to make it clear- this music is 100% © bungie, written by Alex Seropian and Martin O Donald, all I did was arrange/orchestrate and mix it. None of it was sampled from the original music, it was all made on a mac in Logic Pro using samples from the Vienna Symphonic Libray, Spectrosonics Atmosphere and a few other sample libraries.
