In Response To: Plasma Rifle... love it or leave it? (pillar of awesome) : In my opinion, it's one of the most versatile weapons in Halo (second to the : M6D, of course)... The PR/M6D combo was my go-to in almost any situation, : campaign or multiplayer. I really enjoy the H1 plasma rifle, and for a long while in my early campaign days, plasma rifle plus pistol was my standard combo, an appealing blend of power and finesse. Eventually I realized that a well-used plasma pistol could actually be more deadly than the rifle, not to mention a lot more economical, so I used my original combo less. Yet the higher shot speed of the rifle still makes it preferable in many situations, as you don't have to lead the target so much. Love the stun effect too! Unfortunately I didn't like the changes that H2 brought; it had a different feel and sound. How can I describe it... loose and warbly? A bit like a toy, rather than a lethal bit of alien technology. The original felt meaty and focused. I really believed I was streaming piping-hot plasma into enemy hide. It was more visceral. So in H3 I'd like something more like the original please Bungie!
