In Halo-Combat Evolved on the S-C, there is a bit of mystery surrounding one warthog. After the Chief comes up the installation (having the doors rudely slammed shut in his face) and hears the distress call from Dropship Bravo 22, MC passes one warthog in his own. Soon you come upon a second. This is the strange one. It's overturned with four bodies lying near. Yes thats right, I said FOUR, and a warthog has only THREE seats. There are many possibilities for this. However the most likely is a programming error, or perhaps our friends at Bungie were having a little fun. But say that didn't happen, and the Marines were killed by the covenant, heres how it might have gone.
Marines A, B, and C are crusing in the warthog, and see Marine D under attack by a group of covies. ABC join the fight, the LAAG light Anti aircraft gun wreaking havoc on them. (The next event is based on the placement of the bodies and the fact that the warthog was flipped.) Then either a banshee swoops down and fires a bomb. a pair of hunters blast em with fuel rod cannons, or more likely, a plasma grenade is thrown. The Warthog flips in the air, and Marines ABCD are blasted into next millenia. Their bodies fall around a rock, one marine directly on it, his face contorted into an inhuman scream shape. There may be many possibilities, but I thought I'd just point this out.
