In Response To: Re: what WAS the needler designed for..........? (scarab) : Halo needlers are for the connoisseur of crispy pink explosions. Nicely said. For me the H1 needler is the most fun to use (in single-player), and its explosion sound is my favourite sound effect in the whole game. But it's not just for tormenting Grunts and Jackals by piling entire clips into them; it's darned lethal against Elites of course. Unfortunately the H2 version was limp in comparison; lethargic to fire and only a muted explosion at best. A work of art ruined. I assume they lowered the rate of fire in order to limit its deadliness when dual-wielded. : There is nothing to beat emptying an entire clip into an unfortunate and
Ah, happy days. But hey, why stop at one clip? Fired from distance, it's possible to get two whole clips into an enemy. Lots of opportunity for that in level 2's Arc of death, a situation which is needler heaven. : There is a room in AotCR that has a central area with stairs either end that

Back in August I posted a long article all about the fun you can have in this Seventh room and advertised it in the forum. Hey hold on a minute, I've just checked and I see that you were one of the few responders; so maybe you got that side-needling tactic from the article after all. : I hope bungie restore the Halo style graphics: glassy needles, transparent
In H1 I also like the way needles create ultra-realistic puffs of dust when they hit a rock or something; just one of many small details that make the game so impressive. |
