Halo - Marathon Sigh!!!!

Hello everybody. I am here with my second post. This time to get a message out. I had just finished reading the post of Ried theory. I can not even fathom why it went on for so long.

Yes it obvious that both Marathon and Halo carry similar themes

Yes it has been said before by Seropian that Master Chief and the guy from Marathon are the same gun totting hero.

IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT! IMPORTANT!

This does not mean that they share the same universe, or even the same timeline. They are different properties. They may be similar but are not the same, they are different stories in different universes ala Star Wars/Star Trek

The reasoning behind this is? Has anyone ever even thought of Halo as being a remake or reimagining of Marathon that Bungie will not admit to? All signs so far point to yes.
