| Comic Con 06 - Day One 'Bungie Hunt Day' | |

So I'm at the San Diego Comic Con, right? The big convention that opened today. Well, after managing to get my hands on my new toy from Joyride studios...
I walked over to the Penny-Arcade booth, because those new beach posters are the_lollers. And as I'm walking by, I notice a trio of men standing nearby, talking to one another. But I notice that one of these men is bald. So I peeked again, and after looking closer, I noticed that this man was bald AND had a Halo 3 shirt on. After about my 3rd double take I managed to get a glimpse at his name badge. 'Frank O' Connor' I was standing three feet away from THE Frankie! Bungie! Halo! FRANKIE! I pulled my phone out of my boot and started to call anyone I knew who would be as excited as I was, I attempted Schooly_D, who would be joining me a day later. No answer. Instead I got a text message. 'Im at work, you whore.'
I tried to call Pinkuh, who I knew was in San Diego, no answer. So I left her a message:
So after I got past my star-struck awe of sheer unbelieveabl-ility, I finally got the balls to walk up to Frankie and walked into their conversation, in my pirate costume.
After staring at him for about 5 seconds the conversation stops and they looked at me. "I'm sorry, but can I get a picture? Please?" Frankie in his bald-bewildered stage blinked. "Why?" I put on my most desperate face and pleaded. "Please Frankie?" The two men who were with him (Sketch and I'm guessing another fan) started laughing. Sketch told him 'he had been caught'. And Frankie even cracked a smile :D
I told him I needed this picture otherwise no one on HBO would believe me. After the picture we made some small talk and I mentioned my receiving my 1 of 1200 ODST figurine, how I planned to get the graphic novel tomorrow, and as many signatures as possible, even my cosplay. When I explained my costume (and the kick ass prop you people from IBO aren't allowed to mention yet <3) he perked up. "That's good enough for me." I thanked them for the picture and their time and left, answering the phone that had been buzzing in my boot. A text from Schooly_D. 'HOLY F***ING SHIT F***ING FRANKIE? WILL HE BE THERE TOMORROW?!' 'Yes.' 'Tell him I said 'lol'.' Best way to start a 4 day convention, ever. Heart you Frankie :D | |
