Okay, this is something weird I noticed... So since work on Vector Chief finished I started on the Arbiter. It was then I came to the conclusion that I wanted to do something bigger and better, which I have now started work on. This new image contains Covenant, the Chief, and the Forerunner. It was while I was browsing the covenant ships for colors that I noticed that even though they are grey, there is a tinge of purple in there. Just like everything else covenant. Funky, I thought. Went on not questioning it. Started picking colors for the Forerunner... and then something struck me as odd. The forerunner have aqua in all their colors in some way or another, like the Covenant do with Purple and the Humans with Green. Thinking about it, these are all "cooler colors". As in, they aren't as warm as reds, yellows, oranges, so on and so fourth. The Flood are mostly warm Tans. But I happened to gaze over at my Prophet of Truth figure on my desk... oddly red and brown, isn't he? Considering the Covenant are all very "purple", he is strikingly warmer in design. The Prophets are the only figures in the game that are so blatantly "warm" in color (I mean, even their "crowns" are gold). I do not count the colors used by the Covenant to discern rank because, down to the base of each species - The skin, fur, or whatever-and the armor traits they share in common with eachother-is a lot of purple which the eye doesn't pick up. This is not true for the Prophets. And even outwardly, the only thing that is even nearly purple is the chairs they sit in. Odd. I don't know what to make of it, but maybe it's sort of a sign that the Covenant as a whole are misled by the Prophets (which we know for sure), who have alterior motives for this "grand scheme" of theirs. That they are the true "bad guys" in this universe. Based on how every other race (Besides the Flood) is strikingly cooler in colors with the Prophets the odd ones out. The Aqua that the Forerunner use though leads me to believe that the Forerunner were a seperate race from Humans (Hence the humans title of Reclaimers, not Forerunners), but at the same time, close to them (Humans having a Green fetish and all). A lot to garner from just a few colors, but I don't see it as coincidence. | |
