Pieces of the Halo Puzzle

In Response To: Re: Prophets+Humans=Forerunner (Really LONG) (GFC Danny) : Really nice theory, it makes alot of sense. But why deprive the humans of the : information? Shouldn't they know that they hold the key to 'saving' and : destroying all life in the universe. Well, by erasing their memories, the humans need the information from the prophets in order to fire the halos again. The two species (Prophet and Human) that made up the Forerunner recognized the possibility that the Flood may return and that the Halos may need to be fired again. They wanted to force their cooperation on this matter in the future by giving each species a separate piece of the puzzle. The prophets know HOW to fire the halos, but CAN'T. The humans CAN fire the halos, but don't know HOW. Thus, the truce that existed before must be re-established in order to fire the halos again. Think of it as a 2-part fail-safe.
