Seeker Firefox Plugin
I just whipped this up tonight...it's a Firefox search plugin for the 'Seeker' search tool that Deimos (over at Subnova) made in the last week or so. Some people might recall the HBO News Plugin I made a few months back...it's sorta like that. This has not been sent to Mozilla yet, but I plan to eventually.
I made this plugin to integrate with the Firefox search engine box that comes with the browser. There's a lot of people that use Firefox, but if not, this might just be the reason to switch :) Basically what the Seeker Search Plugin does is puts a little search box in the top right corner of the browser. There's a whole list of different searches you can do, from Amazon to Google. When you install it, 'Seeker' will be one of the options. All you have to do is type in your search and hit enter. Subnova will pop up and your results will be shown. Easy as that! Here's what it'll look like: Here's the result window:
(*NOTE* If you have Firefox and the search bar isn't there, right click somewhere on the toolbar (like on the 'home' button for instance)and click customize. When a window pops up, click and drag the search bar to somewhere on the toolbar. I'm pretty sure the search bar is automatically shown when you start Firefox for the first time, so this is just if the search bar isn't there.) To download, click the link below. You'll be taken to another page (on my site) because the HBO forum doesn't allow javascript. Click that link there, then click 'OK' when the dialog box comes up. Restart you browser (close all instances of it) and you should be set. Have fun! *NOTE* Several people have commented that Seeker is running a little slow. Remember, it's in Beta, so I'm sure it will get better in time. If the search doesn't work, just try it again! :)
