| Reticle Thickness (Important?) | |

While playing Sacred Icon, I made a "Flood Pet" and he cornered me into a wall (powerful little buggers). I didn't want to kill him, so I slowly moved my shotgun reticle across his body. What caught my eye was that the thickness of the red reticle changed depending on where I aimed: http://files.mythica.org/halo/hbo/retthcknss.wmv
[File moved and QT added - lwu] It is hard to see in that vid, but you can see it flashing as I move quicker. This can help greatly when it comes to aiming with the shotgun (if you have good hand-eye coordination). I noticed that this thickening actually takes place with all weapons except the sword. The Battle Rifle and Carbine make it more obvious, as the reticle thickens, a small dot appears smack in the center of the crosshair. I figure this can greatly help, and maybe this is as good as the shotgun will get, when it is bright red it is usually a one hit kill. | |
