Cortana is Rampant!

There’s been a lot of speculation that Cortana is rampant. If you’ve been here a while, you would know that this has been an ongoing topic of discussion here since the end of Halo 1. The problem is that no one has any proof…until now.

I was watching some of the cutscenes in the library today when something stuck me as odd. In the cutscene “Cross Purposes,” at 0:47 (I’m watched the High-Res Mythica version) she moves her arms from down by her side to crossing her hands. What’s so wrong about that? Watch her fingers. They are in a crossed position just before she starts to say “If he does, I’ll detonate In Amber Clad’s reactors just like we did the Autumns. The blast will destroy this city and the ring.” Here’s a picture:

This might be nothing but I think it leads to a whole new level of speculation. Why won’t she detonate the reactors? If she knows she won’t detonate the reactors, why does she need to stay behind? Does it tie into the Gravemind cutscene after the credits? Speculate away!
