Man oh man, this was some great fun. Woke up Friday and learned I didn't have school. So I'm lounging around the house all day, just watching tv and anticipating the forthcoming LAN. So 5 o'clock rolls around and I'm on a train headed to New Haven Conneticut, so Konrad could pick me up. Well, we get stuck in NY for half an hour because God knows why, and we loose power to the train 4 times. Not off to a good start. So I arrive at like five after 9, and I'm greeted by a Dunkin Donuts, so I immediately grab a caffiene loaded beverage. I waited about 5 minutes, and I see Konrad, so we head out to his sisters car, and we are on our way to Lou's. From the Train station, it's pretty much straight to Lou's. We got lost before we even needed to turn. We made it there at about 10 I think, though. We set our stuff down, and head to the basement where there is already a small multiplayer game going on, and I hop in with Boxer, Malagate, and a few others. We played for a bit til Synthetic showed up, at which point I was dead tired and was heading to bed, with Boxer (not in the same bed). So I set my iPod to wake me up at like 9:30 in the morning, to get a head start on being awake. Well at about 9:15 I hear a "CCccrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeaaaaaaaaaakkk" "Ok, I'm gonna hit him with it, and then you take the picture" "Ok" (Please note they made no effort to keep their voices down) and thus was immediately awoken. Right as I look up, I see Boxer (who was all of 4 feet away) launch a stuffed bunny at my head and completely miss, and have Fluffy take a picture of me waking up. Downstairs, word has spread that Mig was making some tortilla things for breakfast. I didn't have any but they looked good. Over night, Shishka, Mig, Nof, JYNX, Furhman and a few others have shown up. We all introduce ourselves and get acquainted and head down to set up the projectors and move tables and what not. There were some really fun games (unless Geirad picked them :P ) that went down. I had a great time playing, and didn't do as bad as last time. After a while, Shishka announced he brought some prizes for a contest. The rules were pretty wierd, but I came in 7th place and won a small MC promo figure from e3 2004 which is only 1 of 1000 out there (thanks man!), and watch as others win their prizes. KP won an original Mister Chief drawing (as you've all seen), and JYNX won a MS flask. We resumed playing, and I took the liberty upon myself to steal Count Zero's iBook for a while and check on things (some of you talked to me on IRC), and wish my best friend a happy birthday. At the same time I noticed Two's big face on the 23" monitor, and realize there is an iSight on, so we chat for a bit. After that, Count Zero decided that I'd been stealing his iBook long enough and asked (yes, he did ask, and not tell me) if he could use it. I couldn't say no, so I go and steal Furhmans thinkpad for a little bit. After goofing off for a bit, I jump back in for a few games, and had a great round of 16 player rocket no sheilds CTF on Damnation. It ended early because it literally would have taken hours to end at the rate it was going. For some odd reason, after this, people started to slowly file out, and I hopped onto Lou's powerbook, and talked to a few people on AIM, and voice chatted with Two til about 3 in the morning (hour after people started to leave). After that, it was time to go to bed, but OH WAIT lets stay up even longer and get carried away talking. Like we did. It started with me telling JYNX how I got into a semi-fight in Philly, and how I punched someone in the face who was trying to steal money from me, and they just broke down into laughter when I showed how I hit (for the record it wasn't really like that guys, that was just me giving you an example on how I did it). Then we somehow got onto the topic of JYNX's boss who used to be one of the characters in Disney Land, but he is under an NDA and can't say who he was. He kept us up all night laughing about how he learned all these mannerisms from being a character for so long, that they affect the way he acts in real life. He had me lollin so bad I actually fell off the chair in the kitchen, laughing. Then we all hit the sack and my mom calls, and we find out my train has already left. The night before. 11 hours before we though it was due. We thought it was 12:26 in the afternoon. But no, the idiot made it for 12:26 on frelling midnight. But after some switching of this and that, I got the right ticket, and had to rush to track two and almost missed THAT train. God that was great. Overall, this isn't as detailed as KP's of ClarksBrothers, but this is just a recount of the things that I will remember forever., like meeting Boxer, MrFluffy, Shishka, Louis, CYBR, and all the guys. The LAN was incredible guys. Thanks so much for making it happen. Special thanks - Louis, for not only letting me attend, but giving me a place to sleep Friday and Saturday, and providing me with food, drink, Halo and internets. Konrad - Thanks to you and your sister for picking me up from the train station when I arrived in New Haven. MikeMan - Thanks for the ride back to the train station. I owe you two. JYNX - Thanks for offering to take me back to the train station when it looked like Mike wasn't coming, and for keeping me up all night lolling. Shishka /Bungie - Thanks for coming out. It was great to meet you finally, and play you in some Halo. And a big thanks to Bungie for giving him some gifts to give us. Nof/Furhman - Thanks for breakfast.
