I was just thinking about how I have been here for a bit more than a year. I then started thinking about why in the hell I actually came to a forum about a frickin video game. So, I got to wondering why everyone else was here. Here is my story: I started off going to bungie.com and checking out the Truth and Reconciliation site every couple of days to see if I could find something out about this new game that was coming out in a month or so (Halo). So, after the game came out, I really didnt check that site too often, until they started talking about HaloPC. So I got caught up in some hype for that, wanting to use some new weapons and play online. I played it for a while. Back at the Truth and Reconciliation site, I noticed a link to some site called "HBO" I figured that it was some stupid site that was half-assed and had very little to offer, but out of curiosity, I clicked the link and came across this site. It seemed well made, so I checked out the Tips and Tricks section. Some very cool stuff there. I then proceeded to check the frontpage every few days and saw some cool movies and wallpapers. Then I saw a wallpaper with one of the Covenant Engineers in it. Hmmm...never saw one of those in the game. So, that lead me to my first ever forum post, anywhere. It asked for pictures of the engineer, and BOLL quickly gave those up to me. This was turning out to be very cool. I liked having people to answer questions. I started to contribute to other peoples posts. One involved a very in-depth explanation of why the name 343 Guilty Spark was made. Me, not so familiar with Bungie's style, chastised this person for thinkin WAY too much about a video game (I am now sorry for doing that). Evetually, I started to get that this story was quite possibly the most intricate one I have ever seen and I have now read the books on it and even made some of my own theories. And here I am today, a proud member of this site, and a forum moderator for Halo-World.net (which is currently under construction). I would like to here about some other people's stories as to why they are now at this site. | |
