Well since I am the loser playing Halo 2 in that video, I figured I would open this thread up to any people who had questions about the gameplay. I'll go ahead and explain a few things on my own for you guys...
- Yes, I do suck at sniping. ;P However, keep in mind that the new Sniper Rifle has an unexpected kick to it. Although I had played Halo 2 at E3, I never got the chance to use the sniper. This time, I did. It was very cool, but different enough to throw me off a bit!
- You will noticed how I get pwned whenever I grab the plasma sword. When I got the sword, I was so excited, that I got the melee and lunge attacks mixed! In other words, I was pressing the right trigger repeatedly to attack, rather than the 'b' button. When you try to lunge (right trigger) without being locked on, it doesn't work too well! On a side note, you may have also noticed that the plasma sword will disintegrate if it is not picked up by someone within about 3 seconds. This is what killed me while I was at the bottom of the fan the second time, as it takes off about 1/3 of your shield.
- I do, in fact, enjoy double weapons quite a lot (could you tell?). One of the strategies you will see me using, is that of firing one weapon while the other is reloading, and vice versa. This sometimes was more effective than firing both at once, since I was able to release a steady stream of fire at the enemies!
- Some of the people at the event were confused by all the icons on the screen. Here's a little guide on the icons in this build of Halo 2!
Flag Icon: When the offensive team is carrying the flag, the defending team will not see an icon noting it's location. However, whenever the flag is dropped, an icon instantly is displayed for the defending team. When it is picked back up, the icon dissapears. That's good to know for those who were trying the "toss and run" approach to moving the flag. If you are the D team, and the O team takes your flag, a red flag appaers under your aiming reticule. If the flag is dropped, but not yet returned, a yellow flag appears.
Kill Icon: Sometimes when I got a kill, a small blue circle with 3 dots appeared under my aiming reticule. Not sure what this means! =P
Teammate Icons: Every teammate on the map, starting out, has a blue and purple square over their head. If the outline is blue, nothing is going on. If the outline is yellow, they are firing their weapon. If the outline is red, they are being hit. If you see a red box with an X through it, they are dead, and waiting to respawn.
