OXM hits the store shelves (in cincinnati anyway)
Posted By: Alex CrossDate: 8/18/04 7:12 p.m.

You know, the one Frankie said would come out August 24th? 0_o Anyway, I saw the mag at Borders Bookstores and took a gander. There's a 6-7 page article on Halo 2 in the mag, as well as a lengthy look at Doom III, and a few other so called major blockbusters.

If this hasn't been addressed on the forum, or if no one's actually seen the new OXM, well to be honest, you're not missing much. In fact, I would go so far as to say that the information Tempus Fugit gave this forum is more up to date and tantalizing than even the OXMs. For example, the OXM has a page dedicated to Halo 2 vehicles, and says there are no changes to the scorpion tank, where as Tempus's info states that the turrent is now independently controlled of the vehicle's movement. But on top of being slightly obsolete (here it comes), there are no new screenshots. None. Not much new is discussed either, mainly recaps of Zanzibar, E3 and all that.

I did not buy the mag, but it is an informative holiday gift guide that covers a good deal from the top anticipated games, to xbox live components, to home theater systems (they have a 7.1 system in the mag, but that seems kind of overkill considering the xbox is only compatible with 5.1, correct?). Also, if you want to know more about Doom III, it's a good magazine for it, but if you want the magazine solely for the purpose of learning about Halo 2, you will be disappointed.

For HBO noobs and trolls alike: If anyone here still follows that stupid rumor, and Frankie's message was ignored by people who have the attention span of ferrets suckin down coffee, THERE IS NO PLAYABLE HALO 2 DEMO!!!

That is all. Cheers.

-Alex
