Interesting things afoot

Most of you would probably play MP more than SP, so it should not consern most people. I've experenced two bizzare things in Halo SP.
Before I say anymore, these are saved game checkpoints i'm playing from.
1) Truth and Reconsiliation(sp?) Once inside I snipe the first elite with the sword and wham! The computer decides to spawn and INFINATE amount of Covenant baddies (I realised this when the marine yelled out "Contacts! Lots of contacts!) No doubt all the marines got killed.
I noticed it was infinate since I was in a major 30 min battle with them all. I like a challenge but this was stupid!
2) The end section on The Maw. Jump in the hog and a timer for 10 minutes displays, and there are no eniemes in the remainder of the level!
