Wait! Before you read this, be sure to take a look at these next two tags:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- People call me observant, or holmes. Here we go...
1) Cheif Mendez will never make an appearance again."John never saw [Mendez] again". Ever. It's sad... but Mendez won't be coming back. Straight from the words of Nylund. Unless of course someone other than MC sees him in Halo 2... Dr. Halsey?(Hint, hint.) 2) Now, the stealth ship Keyes destroyed during the orbital battle for Sigma Octanus IV. Remember? Think deep into your memory. There was a tiny covie ship, "bigger than the dropships"(phantom?). Keyes pondered that it was a stealth ship, so after a few unsuccesful archer missiles, he drove right into it, crushing it. I suspect two things: A)It escaped in time and will somehow be of significance in Halo: First Strike, or B) Before it was crushed, it let out the tiny probe which attached tothe Iriquois. More on that next. 3) Keyes made it after the battle for Sigma Octanus IV, and during his course around the planet again, a tiny probe, identical to the rest of the scrap metal from the cradle(the repair station which took a hit for Keyes' ship), attached itself to the iriquois' armor and obviously made it's position known to the covenant on Reach, thus the fall of Reach. The first time I read tFoR, I thought this "probe" might be 343GS, but now I realise that it was most likely something the Covenant have which we haven't seen yet. Let's cross our specially-designed prosthetic halo 2 fingers! 3) About the crystals on Cote d' Azur: Apparently, those crystals the hunters were trying to nab in the red box were the same as the ones at grid thirteen-by-twenty-four. Now, thanks to my bad memory, it's not clear, but I think Cpl. Harland sees this same mineral. Meh. Well, later Cortana with Dr. Halsey deep in her lab on reach speculate on the crystal's origin. It was poked, stabbed and clued about it when the MC talks to the ONI spooks about the early scientists on Sigma Octanus IV. Well, Dr. Halsey mentions it the encrypted message that Keyes recorded was similar to the writing on the crystals(bad memory, could be wrong). This would mean a possible new enemy. No new enemy, I think the legendary forerunners were behind this one. They either sent a few meteorites to Sigma Octanus IV with the crystals to warn the humans of the soon-to-be-discovered Covenant, or they sent it as a threat. Either way, it proves the forerunners have a language. 4) The engineers: Not much explaining on this one, I just wanted to say anyone who was confused about the aliens who disassemble and reassemble human technology were engineers. They were cut from the game before it was released. Unfortunately, I can't provide a link, but you can find it if you dig around a bit. No news to those of you who already knew. 5) I'm out of observations, so I'll just say something which a lot would be curious to know. The MC is 43. I didn't find that out, by the way, but I think it was Sgt. Mobuto. Go bug him. Sorry if I guessed wrong. Well, take a scroll down the page to the MC rank thread, and you'll find it there. Phew. I'm all sherlocked out. Go on, have a thought or two on these. Critism is welcomed. As long as it's not in flame form. ^_~ |
