Why doesn't the Flood attack 343 GS? *Theory* | |

I was playing the Library today (I haven't bothered playing it in a long while) and something kept bugging me. I watched the monitor fly into those holes in the wall and though to myself "Here we go again" because the Flood come out to play like clockwork when he leaves. The thing that bothered me was how the Monitor uses the same holes (pipes, whatever) to go in that the Flood come out. The Flood just ignore him and come to kill you. The Flood will attack sentinels, so it's not like they won't attack him because they can't infect him. Any ideas why? After I played the Library, I decided to play 343 Guilty Spark (don't ask me why). I reached the end and something was really bugging me about how the Monitor took you. He introduces himself. Why would he introduce himself? He expects you to know all about the Flood, about Halo, yet he still feels the need to introduce himself. If he felt you were a Foorerunner, he wouldn't need to say anything. He tells you his name, his function, and the name of the installation. It just doesn't add up. This is exactly what he says... "Greetings. I am the Monitor of installation 04. I am 343 Guilty Spark. Someone has released the Flood. My function is to prevent it from leaving this installation. But I require your assistance. Come. This way." Any thoughts? |
