Hey guys! Been a bit since I posted but wanted to thank all of you who responded to my query about what you would love to see in a Halo PC strategy guide. You had some great ideas and I really appreciate all your comments and suggestions. If you didn't see my original post, my name is Doug Radcliffe and I'm authoring the official Halo PC strategy guide. I'm a big fan of Halo and Bungie having been a part of previous Bungie game communities (Myth is my all-time favorite game!). To repeat what I said in my initial post, one of my goals in the book is to give the Halo community a voice -- I'd like to community to be a part of the guide -- and halo.bungie.org is obviously a huge segment of that community. So, with that said, I'm going to include "Gamer Tips" (that's probably not the official name for them but it'll do for now) in the guide. These are "veteran" or expert Halo tips straight from players in the Halo community -- you! You can send your gamer tips to my email address, doug_radcliffe@yahoo.com. I'd prefer email as I will check that more often than this thread, though I'll check back here as well. If you submit a tip and it's used in the guide, your name (or handle if you wish, please let me know if you prefer what name is used with the tip or I'll just use whatever is next to your email address) will be included alongside the tip. Also, your name will appear in the acknowledgements section of guide. If you need an example of how it would appear in the guide, let me know. It may not be possible to include each and every tip submitted, though I will certainly try to fit it in somewhere! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to email me! I'll make posts when requesting new tips. The first batch of tips in this post deal with "weapons". Focus your tips on the single-player game only for now, not multiplayer. Also, dont be specific to a level because there will be level tips later. Keep the weapon tips more general, though you can be specific to certain enemies. Any unique/veteran style tips on weapons will be perfect. Even personal anecdotes, cool things to try, etc etc. I asked the HBO staff about including those already submitted to the tips and tricks section. He said it would be fine as long as the original submitter was credited. Any of those used will be credited exactly like submitted tips. Whew! So, let me know if you have questions.
