Some of you may remember back to E3. On the last day of the trade show, bag of stuff was swiped from my room, and with it, my fanfest goodies. I was pretty upset about it, and the hotel made it clear they weren't going to try to compensate me at all. However, SketchFactor saw my post, and got in contact with me. He got my address so he could send me some stuff to take the edge off losing all my fanfest stuff. I thought "That's cool!" And figured I'd get a shirt and a soundtrack and maybe some stickers. Even knowing Bungie was looking out for one of their fans made me feel better about the whole thing. Let it be said that Bungie really, really looks out for their fans. Now, before I get started with the pictures, I thought I'd point this out: "There's also a special prize for Geoff Chang, for his Battle Rifle model. It's in a class by itself... and Geoff will be receiving a pretty unique award for it; if you've paid attention to the Bungie webcam recently, you'll have seen red and blue MC action figures. The blue guy has a special mission... but the red guy will be headed to Mr. Chang." That's from the front page of Pillar of Art contest. When I first read that, I saw the remark "The blue guy has a special mission..." and it set off a flag in my head, but not the right one. It never occured to me that he would be in any way connected to the stuff Sketch was going to send me. Maybe I'm getting slow in my old age?
Getting Blue was enough to make my day. Hell, more than that, easily. Bungie, however, does not do things unless it's gonna be huge:

Not shown here is the 2003 Fanfest nametag, and the Bungie "Don't make us kick your ass" t-shirt. As I went through this stuff, I was positively in shock. I still am, really, just having the goodies picture up on my other monitor is making me grin like a fool. So much stuff! However, I wasn't done. At the bottom of the box the stuff had arrived in, sat an envelope. Inside was this:
If my horrible picture taking skills aren't translating well, this is a Halo 2 poster, signed by everyone at Bungie. HOW COOL IS THAT? I am really, truly blown away by this, guys. I can't thank Sketch and everyone enough for getting all this stuff together for me. This is just too unbelievably cool. Thanks so very much to you all. I'd also like to thank Mehve, in particular. Not just for signing her artwork twice for me, but I heard it was her idea to give me the blue Chief. Thanks a ton! You're my hero. =) Those of you reading this that are new to the Bungie community should see this as proof of how cool Bungie is. Many people feel that a gap exists between developers and gamers. This simply isn't true with Bungie. Having an account here means being a part of the coolest damn gaming community in the world. And a big part of that is because we're based around the coolest developers. I now have a monitor guardian with a plasma shield:
