Invincible Elite on EASY!

That's right, in the level Pillar of Autumn, there is at least one verified invincible elite.

Play on Easy.

After the first checkpoint, duck under the half-closed blast door.

Wait there until all other nearby blast doors have closed.

A Crewman will say something to the effect of "This area is secure, you're probably needed somewhere else now."

Continue through the door towards the bridge.

You should see the back of an elite, who will quickly withdraw into a small room. Normally, the door then closes, locking him out.

If you hurry, you can get into the room before the elite. He will come in with you, but the door will never close.

So how do I know he's invincible? There's two marines at the end of the hall that keep pumping hot lead into him the whole time that you're in there. Also, if you duck, the elite won't hit you often enough to make you lose your shields. Also, this particular elite never uses the melee attack. Weirdness.
