In Response To: Does cryosleep make you age???? (Spartan ][) : Lets say master chief went into cryosleep for 5 years,hypothetically. Would : he age. I know he would still end up being 46 but would his body age at : all. I think that he wouldnt. I would like to see what everyone thinks. Aging is a chemical process. Chemical processes are slowed down by reducing temperature. Once temperatures are reduced far enough, the aging of the body is slowed to an infinitesimal rate. That's what cryosleep chambers do. After awakening, the body continues to age normally from that point forward. There are a number of reasons why cryogenics is not currently a viable technology, but in the five and a half centuries leading up to the time of Halo those problems have been solved. Some of the technology is discussed in the novel Halo: The Fall of Reach, but I don't think it's mentioned much in the upcoming novel, Halo: The Flood. Hopefully there will be more information about the technology of the Halo Universe presented in future books and other products. Take Care, Brannon
