[interesting theory snipped] I, personally, believe that the Halo works like the Starhammer works - it induces a gravitational flux in its target (something as big as a Star) and destroys it from within. (The Starhammer also worked instantaneously over any distance - no explanation on how this was accomplished.) However, I'm replying to this post not to say that your DNA theory has no merit (I think it's a pretty interesting theory), but to disagree with your interpretation of Cortana's comment. She says "The Halo is not a cudgel' - this doesn't mean, necessarily, that the Halo cannot destroy things - maybe it means that destroying things isn't its primary purpose. If you place a cat in a microwave oven, and turn it on... eventually the cat will explode. The oven was not designed to explode cats, though - it was designed to heat food. If someone saw you putting a kitten into the oven, they might tell you that it's not a cat-destroyer... but that doesn't mean it doesn't destroy cats in a spectacular fashion. Does that make sense? | |
