I figured there's a better chance that it happens again if you don't make a big deal of it. :) (I broke this rule when Evil Otto accidentally spilled the plotline of the next Halo book... but nobody's perfect. :) ) : Like the line, "Aww crap, it's gonna pop" seemed more applicable to : the carrier forms that the marines don't face on 343GS. Made me think that : the marines may have been considered for use in later levels, perhaps the : library. Would have been interesting if this were true. Yah... if I remember correctly, the first time someone pointed out that the last living marine was seen on 343GS, some Bungie employee (ferrex, mb?) had to think about it a bit. The fact that it came as a suprise told me that it might not have been hard-written into the storyline. (Seems to me if the plan all along had been for the last 4 levels to be friendly-NPC-free, it wouldn't have taken any time at all to remember where the last living marine was seen. I could be pulling a Ross Mills, there, and reading too much into a hesitation, though. :) ) : I suffered a slight setback when my cat jumped up onto my desk and spilled : coffee all over a completed page of dialog. I'm down at least 100 lines or : so. AAUUGGHHH!! (Are they really completely unreadable? Non-recoverable? Man, in my house, that would be grounds for a de-furring...) :The cat is now at my mother's house, an hours drive from where I live. : He won't do this to me again. Funnily enough, when Jay posted I was taking : the cat away. When I came back and saw the post, I can't tell you how : happy I was. Jay and Marty made me laugh the most on the making of Halo : segment:) That was actually Marty and JOE - Joe Staten, cinematics guy. Jay Weinland is Marty's assistant... which means mostly he does all the work so Marty can sit back and eat bonbons and watch soaps. : I write down all the lines then check them against my list, there's no other : way to do it. I'm playing Halo about 40 mins each hour over a 14 hour day. : One of the advantages of working from home:) Good lord - and I thought *I* wasted a lot of time on Halo-related stuff... :) : It is difficult dividing my attention between marines and covies. I've found : that I can only concentrate on one or the other. Got to get them as : accurate as possible. So I am alternating my time between the two, for one : hour the marines, the next hour the covies. : I'm loving every minute of this:) It's exactly this sort of stick-to-itiveness that makes Bungie fans be perceived as a tad more fanatical than other game fans. (It also leads to deeper fansites. ;) ) : -Hedge, Halo just keeps getting better...I'm nowhere near ready for Halo2 : yet! Don't worry - you've got a year to finish this puppy! :)
