Re: How does the Halo 3 and Reach theater mode wor

: Doing an ongoing project about Halo, and I'm moving on to one of the best
: parts of the whole series: Theater mode. However, there isn't a lot of
: good information about how the system actually works. I know that David
: Aldridge and Luke Timmins have some sort of special relevance to its
: development, but they don't seem to have any sort of interviews that do a
: deep dive on the system... If anybody here knows where to start looking,
: I'd appreciate it!

I don't know like the nitty gritty tech details or what have you, but I know it's not a video file like some believed before H3's launch. It's an exact playback of every event that occurred during gameplay. That's why it's possible to take a film from 2007 recorded on a 360, and play it back today in 4K on a Series X or emulator.

Bungie were truly ahead of the game, which makes it sad to see them and 343 drop the ball these days on such an incredible feature.
