I dunno. As much as Phil Spencer gets lauded for his tenure at Xbox, the disappointment of Halo seems like a pretty black market against Microsoft. The stories about how development was impeded by a bizarre contracting system doesn't seem like something 343 would have wanted. I'm interested in seeing what new blood can bring to the franchise, but if it were really a case of a few 343 executives being the problem, it also raises the question of why it was only addressed in corporate downsizing a year after launch.
