: Such a trip--I wrote those scripts (and the comments) almost 20 years ago.
: Thank you for digging them up, and telling me where to find them!
I really enjoy your comments! I've definitely had a good chuckle while coding my own maps!
: Random trivia: if you poke through those scripts, you may notice the
: "e#" prefixes (which stand for "encounter#") don't
: start at 1. That's because oldmombasa and newmombasa were originally one
: mission, all the way from the Pelican crash to the teabagging Elite. A
: decision was made after I'd built and scripted that mission to separate
: them into more manageable halves, but it wasn't worth the effort to go and
: re-number everything...
Ohhhh! That's really cool, Ferrex! These are actually two of my favorite levels in the entire franchise!
: I wonder how many other tidbits I could dredge out of those script files? I
: hope I didn't leave any unprofessional comments in there, I don't think
: anyone ever expected them to be public...
I haven't seen anything *too* bad, but I can tell they were definitely not intended for the general public. lol
I really like finding the comments and old encounters, like the Drones spawning on the bridge after the Wraith encounter, that are still referenced in it!
