I know I haven't stayed in touch well over the years, but just wanted to drop a line that the new Halo Encyclopedia out from Dark Horse has a number of contributions from multiple HBO members!

-I was very happy to have the chance to use the cut Guardian Sentinel design from Halo 3 (with a bit of my own spin on it) to render our old pal from the Halo 3 Terminals, Offensive Bias. I also painted a soft re-design of Mendicant Bias, which I tried to make look a bit more classic Forerunner while still retaining the lines and shapes of the MB we saw in Halo Legends. And I got to illustrate Chakas, Riser, Gamelpar, and Vinnevra from the Cryptum/Primordium books, too!

-My old brother-in-brushes, TD Spiral, got to create a whole new fringe species of the Covenant!

-And I believe like a lot of books like this, 343 had the data master Stephen Loftus himself double and triple check the lore.

-Then of course, our long-time mole at 343, GrimBrotherOne, has a lot of thanks owed to him for helping make this book happen! ;)

So at least 4 HBOers involved, not too shabby! The book turned out really pretty (and huge). Unlike the older Halo Encyclopedia, this book is very visually consistent and made up of mostly new art. I haven't kept up with the lore but it looks like they shoved just about everything in there!

Hope you all are doing well and surviving these crazy, horrible, last few years. My life and art career never went the way I had hoped, but I've been making some progress in turning things around in the happiness department, so getting the opportunity to add a professional credit from Halo to my resume meant a lot to me, like getting a present in the mail a decade after it was sent, hah, and I have my time at HBO and the friends I made here to thank for that. So, thank you all again for motivating me to teach myself to paint and tell stories (not to mention putting up with my pedantic arguments!), I really do still appreciate it and cherish all the fun I had here with you all. If anybody's ever putting together an old-school LAN party, you just hollar y'here?
